Diffuse annual to 30 cm with a line of hairs down each internode. Leaves opposite, ovate. Flowers in terminal cymes, white, sepals 4.5--5 mm long, petals bilobed, stamens mostly 5--10. June--Nov. Weed of waste places, NW, SW, AP, KM, LB, SE (cosmopolitan weed).
