Cape- = collected at the Cape of Good Hope (Cape Peninsula); bolos = a lump, a round mass. ‘Also commemorates the surname Bolus: associated with the botany department of the University of Cape Town and Bolus Herbarium’ (South African Journal of Botany 65: 218, 1999).
