Shrub to 2 m. Leaves more or less round, c. 70 mm diam. Flowers to 13, c. 4 cm diam., pinkish purple, with wide and overlapping petals; hypanthium 5--12 mm long, slightly longer than the pedicel. Sept.--Feb. Sandy and granite slopes along coast, SW, AP (Saldanha Bay to Baardskeerdersbos).
