The CASABIO database: Casabase
We have been developing both the concept and the functionality of CASABIO’s database, CASABASE for over a year now. Development is progressing periodically due to the stochastic nature of funding thus far. We provide screenshots of the database mockup to give an idea of what we are up to. The actual concept is so exciting and revolutionary that we will not be revealing it until it is completed for maximum impact. Suffice to say there are two major modules, the information input module or INFORMER, and the software for data and image exploration and viewing, BROWSER.
The main criteria in the software development has been user-friendliness allowing any computer literate person to rapidly begin entering and browsing images and information. However, this has not been at the expense of functionality, where we aim to be able to accept all applicable information. Finally efficiency has been emphasized throughout development from start to finish, and we anticipate a final product that will make maximum use of available resources. Other considerations include accountability and customizability.
The following screenshots will give you an impression of what the Casabase will look like. Click on the pictures for an enlarged view.
